Blakeney Homes in Charlotte, NC
Blakeney is one of the newest areas in south Charlotte. Blakeney is located east of Ballantyne and NE of Marvin. This
area is in south east Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, but is on the edge of Union County. The Blakeney area seems to be
following the same path as Ballantyne. It is an organized development with apartment living and high end housing. There
are several outdoor shopping malls that have opened along with restaurants and office space. Blakeney is booming and is a
sought after area for young professionals that do not want to live too close to center city. Blakeney to Uptown Charlotte is
around a 30 minute drive.
Townhouses are popular in Blakeney. A lot of the young professionals have moved to Blakeney and they prefer to own a
townhouse because it requires less maintenance.
There are several neighborhoods in Blakeney that offer large houses but most of the housing adjacent to the shopping
centersare townhouses.
Most of the houses in Blakeney are associated with the following schools:
Elon Park Elementary School
Community House Middle School
Ardrey Kell High School
Blakeney will continue to grow and develop but the area is already
self sustainable and already has the feel of a community.
A new Farmer's Market has opened near StoneCrest and this will
be a great place for families and friends to meet on the weekends.
Watch for Blakeney to continue to grow and to continue to be a sought after area in Charlotte, NC
